Abstract

Divorce is one of life's events that has a profound psychological impact on individuals. From a clinical psychology perspective, post-divorce stress arises from major changes in emotional, social, and spiritual aspects that affect a person's mental balance. This study aims to analyze how stress is formed and how coping mechanisms play a role in the process of individual adjustment after divorce, by combining the perspectives of clinical psychology and Islamic spiritual values. The research method used is library research, with data sources in the form of books, scientific journals, and relevant literature. The results of the study show that adaptive coping strategies—both problem-focused coping and emotion-focused coping—can reduce stress levels and improve psychological well-being. Meanwhile, Islamic spiritual values such as patience, sincerity, remembrance of God, prayer, and repentance serve as forms of spiritual coping that foster inner peace and moral strength. Thus, the synergy between clinical psychology and Islamic spirituality provides a comprehensive foundation for helping individuals achieve emotional, mental, and spiritual recovery after divorce.
